In the first part of the publication the author focuses on the introduction of class action in the Italian legal system and presents aims of Italian legislator in this respect. Then the author describes the development of class actions regulations and rules currently in force. Next the author presents proposals for changes in the system of collective redress in the Italian legal system, especially regarding protected substantial situations, proper procedure, costs and electronic procedure. In conclusions the author outlines the importance of the groups’ homogeneity for defining the class operations.

Abstract
