An applied research laboratory for technological innovation processes in building

The study aims to contribute to the debate on the role of research infrastructures in the dynamics that in this moment exists in the construction industry, requiring constant revisions and innovative drive. This is a research in progress aimed at the realization of a Testing Laboratory focuses its activities on tests and trials on the building envelope. The goal is to respond to the challenges highlighted by the scenario where there is the need to develop innovative response envelopes from performance-related contextual variables. In this context, the role of research centers that carry out testing activities are particularly relevant, so the approach based on measurements in the regime "simulated" seems to be strategic for the actors in the construction industry.

Lo studio intende contribuire al dibattito sul ruolo delle infrastrutture di ricerca nelle dinamiche che in questo momento investono l’industria delle costruzioni, richiedendo a questa continue revisioni e spinte innovative. Si tratta di una ricerca, in progress, finalizzata alla realizzazione di un Laboratorio di Testing che concentra le attività su prove e sperimentazioni sull’involucro edilizio. L’obiettivo è rispondere alle sfide indicate dallo scenario dove si registra la necessità di sviluppare involucri innovativi dalle risposte prestazionali connesse alle variabili contestuali. In quest’ottica il ruolo dei centri di ricerca che svolgono attività di Testing assumono particolare rilevanza, per cui l’approccio basato su misurazioni in regime “simulato” sembra risultare strategico per gli attori del settore edilizio.
