For Kierkegaard the representation of suffering is impossible. The only possibility is that of a figure that cancels itself out to try to bring everyone back to the perceived reality of the suffering of others, while showing its own insufficiency. The problem of the direct perception of something absent leads to the question of faith, as an analogon of perception. This article concludes with an example of a depiction of suffering: the decoration of the Vejleå Church by artist Peter Brandes.

Abstract
For Kierkegaard the representation of suffering is impossible. The only possibility is that of a figure that cancels itself out to try to bring everyone back to the perceived reality of the suffering of others, while showing its own insufficiency. The problem of the direct perception of something absent leads to the question of faith, as an analogon of perception. This article concludes with an example of a depiction of suffering: the decoration of the Vejleå Church by artist Peter Brandes.File in questo prodotto:
