The paper proposes a reflection on the theme of the rediscovery and enhancement of the space / time of proximity in terms of use and attractiveness of urban space, starting from the formal and performance characteristics of the places in the city designed to create a physical, social, cultural vital space in order to propose design models that also contemplate the control of aspects of urban well-being. The illustrated experimentation is aimed at the southern districts of Reggio Calabria, which represent about 1/3 in terms of surface area and settled inhabitants. It is that part of the city that was born after the war, crossed by large longitudinal arteries and which houses numerous public residential buildings.
