The present study faces the problem of the evaluation of an upper bound to the peak load multiplier of 3D plain concrete elements. To this aim a limit analysis FE-based procedure is applied in a 3D context with reference to the Menétrey and Willam criterion for concrete. The obtained numerical results, even if for simple examples, confirm the validity of limit analysis kinematic approach oriented to the peak load evaluation of reinforced concrete structural elements.

Abstract
