The great infrastructure for research “BUILDING FUTURE LAB.” (BFL) created by the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Department dArTe, through EU funds PON-MiUR (8.6 M€), represents a technological innovation for Testing Advanced building performance. The BFL exceeds the traditional transfer method of constructive experiences, and strives to achieve a transfer of technology and skills-based testing for the definition and certification of performance. On this occasion we will present an innovative design process for sustainability. In particular, we represent what we have defined CTD-Cognitive Technological Design; it is based on the advanced testing that allows you to validate the design choices through testing and possible evidence due to the large equipment of the BFL designed and patented for the development of the project. The BFL is a candidate as a reference for this new design method based on the environmental performance of products. The BFL represents a technological innovation for Advanced Testing building performance; it is actually assumed that the "Building of the Future" will get over the traditional method of transferring construction skills in order to achieve a transfer of technology. In fact, the laboratory is based on cognitive design processes and one of its sections is precisely called "cognitive Lab".
