A blockchain-based web application implementing a NFC (Near Field Communication) traceability system for the smart management of forestry nurseries has been engineered. The system has been applied in three different forestry nurseries in northern, central, and southern Italy and over 100 young forestry plants have been marked with NFC tags. The app record different information on the single plant and could be read/written many times and allows to have on the one hand the management and monitoring of plants in the nursery in real-time, thus allowing the data to be digitized directly. On the other hand, however, it allows to provide greater transparency and therefore traceability to the final consumer of the origin of the plant and of all the cultivation operations provided.
