Since 2013, the department dArTe of the Università Mediterranea, Reggio Calabria, organises “degree Atelier” focused on the development of architectural themes related to the international cooperation processes. The main focus is to build a network where the students, as future protagonists, become key nodes. Recent Ateliers dealt with the design of five Vocational Training Centers in Senegal. This experience benefited from the partnership with VIS (International Volunteer for Development). The proposed theme is the relationship between the complexity of very fragile areas and the ability to propose simple and appropriate architectural solutions.

Abstract
