Abstract RE_uP is one of the systems designed for the S2Home housing module, a research and transfer experience on the themes of innovation and sustainability in construction to the advanced manufacturing field, with the aim of prototyping and creating a demonstrator capable of combining the aspects of regenerative design with those of additive manufacturing and offsite construction. An “agile” process of studies and applied research, generated and driven by a platform of integrated knowledge, project collaborations and operations in university laboratories, research centres and factories. A three-year research project, the results of which discussed possible new frameworks, metrics and methods for the design of adaptive enclosures in climate and space transition scenarios. An open question about the relationship between design innovation and product innovation, in which, once again, the ability to manage the process according to the new tools of design and its predictive scenarios, are based on the “scale jumping” and the new capabilities of relationship between “data, information and resources”
