Il Massiccio del Monte Bianco di Viollet-le-Duc e l’Etna. Iconografia come progetto

The study submitted has as its object the book of Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc: Le massif du Mont Blanc. The translation, the study of the volume and illustrations, on which was based the research, were an opportunity to test some key topics of the theoretical and design activity of the French architect: the observation as a knowledge tool and drawing as verification, communication and formalization of an idea. More generally, the study also opened up new and fruitful reflection about the drawing, the iconographic restitution, the protection and restoration of the landscape.

Lo studio qui presentato ha come oggetto il testo di Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc Le massif du Mont Blanc. La traduzione e lo studio del volume, cui si è guardato nell’unità di testo e illustrazioni, sono stati l’occasione per verificare alcuni temi cardine dell’attività teorica e progettuale dell’architetto francese: l’osservazione come strumento di conoscenza e il disegno come verifica, comunicazione e formalizzazione di un’idea. Più in generale, lo studio ha inoltre aperto nuove e stimolanti riflessioni in rapporto alla rappresentazione, alla restituzione iconografica, alla tutela e al restauro del paesaggio.
