Abstract

Communities can be considered as guardians of the natural and cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, of the places to which they belong. By attributing value to particular and identifying features of the cultural heritage that they consider relevant, they undertake to support and transmit the contents and expressions of the heritage to future generations. Over time, this has led, communities, to strengthen their definition of identity, so much so that they have become increasingly present as main actors in the development of projects and interpretations of their territory and resources.
