Microwave remote-sensing applied to the distributed hydrologic modelling is helpful in the evaluation of environmental response parameters such as surface temperature and soil moisture content. In the framework of a research project addressed to the monitoring of coastal dynamic processes of Calabria, a C-band scatterometer radar has been realized at the Microwave Laboratory of the University of Calabria. In-situ backscattering measurements have been made in order to obtain the calibration curve of the instrument whose results have been compared with those provided by standard probes with the Time Domain Reflectometry technique. A direct relationship between the measured reflected power and the soil moisture content has been derived. Abstract
The work has been developed in cooperation with the I.R.P.I.-C.N.R (Istituto per la Ricerca Idrogeologica – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
