Mediterranean Landscape in Context of Emergency is a UNESCO Chair focusing on territories and places for shared inhabitation. It adheres to the UNESCO mission to respond to "territories in crisis and populations in transition" by focusing on landscape design as an expression of the close relationship between humans and the environment and as an expression of the social, productive and cognitive world of Mediterranean communities. The UNESCO Chair aims to contribute to the enhancement of physical and human landscapes that are undergoing major transformation today due to millions of people moving in search of places to live. The work of researchers who are part of the UNESCO Chair aims to encourage and support local institutions and communities in implementing local management policies focused on building communities that inhabit, interpret, create and operate within shared multiethnic and multicultural places.
