Recently, the scientific community has developed and proposed new supporting methods and tools for the design and assessment of sustainable buildings. International studies have highlighted the need to adapt the developed methods to specific building types and to the different local contexts of application. This paper aims to contribute to the definition of a method for the analysis and assessment of the level of environmental sustainability of agri-food industry buildings. Its application to specific contexts in the South of Italy is proposed. The method allows to determine a synthetic agri-food building sustainability index and to overcome, thanks to the fuzzy logic, the difficulties resulting from inaccurate and subjective qualitative evaluations due to the values of certain considered indicators.

Abstract
Recently, the scientific community has developed and proposed new supporting methods and tools for the design and assessment of sustainable buildings. International studies have highlighted the need to adapt the developed methods to specific building types and to the different local contexts of application. This paper aims to contribute to the definition of a method for the analysis and assessment of the level of environmental sustainability of agri-food industry buildings. Its application to specific contexts in the South of Italy is proposed. The method allows to determine a synthetic agri-food building sustainability index and to overcome, thanks to the fuzzy logic, the difficulties resulting from inaccurate and subjective qualitative evaluations due to the values of certain considered indicators.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
