Abstract

The monitoring of geodynamic phenomena is constantly evolving thanks to the use of increasingly refined techniques. The increasing availability of data acquired over time, through the GPS system allows to create specific models able to simulate the situation in question. The main objective of this contribute is to provide the results from a long series of GPS data acquired over time on a network stradding an active fault, for the estimation of surface deformation in Castrovillari. The geodetic observations based on GPS can also provide useful information to the refinement of models of geophysical monitoring and prevention of natural disasters in areas of high seismic risk in presence of active faults.
