In the general context of the impact evaluation of the building sector on themechanisms of environmental systems in the local scale – and in a global point of view, theenergy parameter represents a fundamental factor for the inquiry and constitutes a necessaryindicator to give a quantitative evaluation to the environmental compatibility of a buildingproduct and/or technical system.In this research, the studies are focalized on the building envelope systems, taking inconsideration at the same time:− climatic and microclimatic characteristics of the intervention context (Southern Italy);− thermophysical behaviour of the used building materials and components;− quantity of energy used in the production of materials and components.The purpose of the study is the definition of a Decisions Making Support System for theinterventions on existing building.
