In this paper the instrumental wave data managed by the APAT (Agency for enviroment and territory), the design wave is drawn to size offshore structures to be realized along the Italian coasts. The height of the design wave for the offshore structures has been drawn using the criterion proposed by Boccotti (2000). For the most severe wave conditions foreseen from the Italian Guedelines, the location of Alghero is characterized by the highest design wave.
