Abstract

The dual digital and ecological revolution and the related implementation actions of digital and cognitive technologies for lifecycle management of the built environment require a break with traditional methods. The perspective is a holistic and technological oriented approach. Interdisciplinary dialogue can only be achieved with conscious management of information flows between agents, both human and software. This is a complex objective when a stratification of heterogeneous qualitative and quantitative data affects the coherence of the discretization and sharing of knowledge. About that, the case of historic buildings, which constitute a significant share of the Italian building heritage, is paradigmatic. This contribution explores the initial result of a doctoral research taking place at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. The study experience involves the academic spin-off B.I.G. srl, which deals with solutions for the systematisation of the design and management processes of the built heritage, through existing enabling technologies. The proposal consists of an integrated methodological approach for the discretization of the Information Capital of the built historical heritage.
