A limit analysis approach for orthotropic composite laminates, in plane stress conditions, is presented. The approach is qualifiable as an extension, in the context of orthotropic materials, of a method known in the literature as Linear Matching Method. A Tsai–Wu type criterion is assumed as yield condition, while the search for an upper bound multiplier to the collapse load is carried on grounding on the concepts of non standard limit analysis theory.

Abstract

A limit analysis approach for orthotropic composite laminates, in plane stress conditions, is presented.
