The aim of the research is to conceive, experiment and test, in a specific Case Study, a new system for the census of all quarries (operating; abandoned; historic; etc.) existing in a geographic area, i.e. a control system, continuously updated, of the extraction sites, quarries and of the cultivable mineral resources, of the compatibility between territory - environment - landscape and production activities. In the environmental management and conservation of the national territory, it has been detected the growing relevance of census and monitoring of mining and extraction activities, which strongly affects the landscape and the quality of the territories in which the activities take place. This goal has been pursued, adopting a basemaps georefered, through the specific ArcMap Esri® tools, following different steps: heavy field works to detect all existing entities; geographic coordinates of each entity; basemap of the area consisting in a technical map Data Base Management System (DBMS); GIS.

Abstract
The aim of the research is to conceive, experiment and test, in a specific Case Study, a new system for the census of all quarries (operating; abandoned; historic; etc.) existing in a geographic area, i.e. a control system, continuously updated, of the extraction sites, quarries and of the cultivable mineral resources, of the compatibility between territory - environment - landscape and production activities. In the environmental management and conservation of the national territory, it has been detected the growing relevance of census and monitoring of mining and extraction activities, which strongly affects the landscape and the quality of the territories in which the activities take place. This goal has been pursued, adopting a basemaps georefered, through the specific ArcMap Esri® tools, following different steps: heavy field works to detect all existing entities; geographic coordinates of each entity; basemap of the area consisting in a technical map Data Base Management System (DBMS); GIS.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
