The aim of this research is to elaborate a model for evaluative and predictive analyses of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere generated by the economic and production system and at the same time to demonstrate how attention to the reduction of environmental impact can also be profitable from an economic point of view for companies that decide to implement solutions and technologies capable of activating virtuous processes of decarbonization of the global economy in order to achieve climate neutrality objectives. To this end, an analysis was conducted on the sectors that are the cause of the production of greenhouse pollutant emissions with particular reference to anthropogenic emissions, focusing on the transport sector, which accounts for a significant share in the production of pollutant emissions. Therefore, a simulation model was defined for the flow of goods transport produced in Italy and destined for foreign markets for which the relative CO2 emissions were examined. The orientation held by this research falls on the so-called “Sustainable Logistics” aimed at identifying optimal solutions not only in economic-business terms, but also in terms of containing environmental impact, following the hypothesis that: a reduction in environmental impact can also be profitable from an economic point of view for companies.
