High Speed Rail (HSR) passenger services cause competition with other rail services, and other modes of transport. The paper presents the structure of a Reveled Preference (RP) survey which has been submitted to travelers in an Italian HSR context. The objective of the survey is to analyze the travelers’ choice behavior, among the services, the runs and the ticket levels. Hence, the survey investigates the main behavioral variables of HSR travelers to be adopted for the calibration of discrete choice models in the dimension of run and ticket. The RP survey is organized in several sections to collect different types of data: data about the chosen run (day of travel, number of the run, departure and arrival time); socio-economic data about the traveler and his/her family; data about the purpose and frequency of the trip; data about the chosen ticket. This work is aimed at supporting transport planners and decision-makers in the evaluation of future investment in HSR lines and services, and to analyze the travelers’ behavior, by means of methodological and modelling tools to assess the potential HSR travel demand.
