The evaluation of parameters of practical interest in microwave engineering is often related with the numerical solution of a suitable nonlinear eigenproblem defined on a symmetric domain D. In this work, we demonstrate as exploiting Group theory, it is possible to obtain a block diagonal matrix representation for this eigenproblem, which allows to accomplish a remarkable reduction of the computational requirement involved in its resolution.

Abstract
