The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility of an integrated multi-dimensional and multi-level approach that supports decision-makers in planning, designing and managing complex urban regeneration plans. The mixed methodological approach and the combined effect of various assessment tools provide rational arguments for using scarce public resources to determine intervention priorities and the most effective alternatives among different options. The definition of shared objectives and development scenarios can reduce problems and guarantee economic development over time. The inte- grated model applied to five areas of strategic value for urban regeneration of the metropolitan area of Reggio Calabria (Southern Italy) highlights the potential of this model. The methodological framework combines different tools: Stake- holder Analysis and Cognitive Maps to identify interests, objectives and values; and a Multi-Criteria Analysis to define the most effective and shared alternatives in order to determine the order of priority of public intervention.
