There are many examples of carefully crafted territorial programs that, when implemented, failed to deliver on their economic and environmental premises. The industrial program in Saline Ioniche is one of these cases. In the 70s the area was chosen for the opening of a large site that should have represented a turning point in the industrialization of the South of Italy. Soon, the unfeasibility of the program became clear, and the site was entirely abandoned. The work stresses the needfor a social and environmental recovery of the area.
