Originating from teaching practice, this e-book is intended for educational use as course material for the LUISS University’s Course in Arts and Performing Arts Law, within the Law and Innovation programme. It seeks to chart and explore, in a contemporary manner, two paths that intersect in interesting ways: the art of law – that is, law as art – and art protected by law – that is, art within the law. In pursuit of a ‘return to law’ in the post-legal era, the book takes the path of the East, which allows us to view the roots of the European and Western legal tradition from a distance. This is not a fully-fledged theoretical work, but rather an exploration aided by legal sources, compiled in the ‘Appendices’ section. QR codes enable interactivity with the references cited.
