ACCRESCIMENTO ED EROSIONE DELLA SPIAGGIA A TERGO DI UNA BARRIERA PARALLELA ALLA LINEA DI COSTA

A small experimental breakwater was built in the sea of Reggio Calabria, and the effects of this construction were revealed on the shoreline, simultaneously recording the incident waves the same time. The experiment led to the full confirmation of the recent model of Hsu and Silvester (1990) for the prediction of accretion and erosion behind a detached breakwater. Moreover, the experiment provided new informations regarding the validity of the aforesaid model. Si è costruita una piccola diga foranea sperimentale nel mare di Reggio calabria, e si sono rlevati gli effetti di tale costruzione sul litorale, registrando contemporaneamente le ondi incidenti. L'esperimento ha portato ad una piena corrispondenza del recente modello di Hsu e Silvester (1990)per la previsione delle deformazioni (accrescimento ed erosione) della spiaggia a tergo di una barriera parallela alla linea di costa. Inoltre l'esperimento ha fornito nuove indicazioni sul campo di validità del predetto modello.
