The Skoura oasis represents an invaluable cultural and architectural richness, due to its architecture. However, in the valleys there arepresahariane Ksours and Tighrematìn whose state of abandonment threatens the survival of this architecture. There are three basic types ofresidential assets developed in southern Morocco: the Ksar, or fortied village, the Tighremt or fortied family home, and nally the Kasbah,synonymous of home and symbol of power, as well as the fortress of great chieftains.
