Abstract

This work represents the result of a research field connected to the territories identity theme considering that cultural eredity conservation has become an important effort on an international level. What is particularly interesting to investigate is the attention to territory and city, considered as complex cultural systems that is both a result of temporal stratified processes and a creative opportunity for new interpretations, compatible projects and economic values, from the history put on a competition level. Starting from the thesis related to urban heritage conservation, no more identified with memory, that is with its mnemonic faculty understood as memories communicative function, but rather it is linked to the actuality of those themes that take inspiration from the urban modern theories on conservation. This study wants to argue that cultural heritage policies rethink and extent, referred to the city, in order to fight and cross distorsions caused by spontaneous and not regulated speculative processes, but caused by the surplus of certain extreme behaviours, are the starting point of an evolutive process as possible direction in a near future.
