The book "The sustainable management of energy resources in the fields of construction and plants", of which the author was the Scientific Responsible, contains an extract of four contributions of the author who has edited the total draft of the book through a structured and defined path.Specifically, after a brief introduction “Towards the management of energy resources” in which it stresses the need for a strong environmental education and, particularly in energy field, starting from the concept of sustainable development (2.1.1), it highlights many difficulties that the building sector - highly energy-intensive - meets to adhere to the changes underway and as it is required a new approach modality to the construction process that links the different phases of this process with local resources, evaluating the efficiency not only energetic of the "building product", but considering the reuse and / or the reduction of the output as an integral part of the process. In the next contribution (2.2.1) is evident, in the case of new construction, the urgency of an energy optimization since the early design phase, considering climatic conditions of the context, the orientation and shape of the building and its isolation and thermal characteristics of the housing. Rather more complex is the intervention on the existing on which it is necessary to intervene or with an internal energy reorganization, by adopting a positive approach, or by checking all the parameters to improve performance through the use of indicators that express the real energy need of the building in relation to the housing and / or building-plant system. In conclusion, taking up some considerations highlighted in the various contributions, we analyze the positions, that on energy issues, international and national institutions have assumed, highlighting, in this last case, the discrepancy between the behavior of the "production" world, however careful to market needs and that of the firms, ancestrally reluctant to align with the changes.

Abstract
In conclusion, taking up some considerations highlighted in the various contributions, we analyze the positions, that on energy issues, international and national institutions have assumed, highlighting, in this last case, the discrepancy between the behavior of the "production" world, however careful to market needs and that of the firms, ancestrally reluctant to align with the changes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
