The technological evolution introduced in the airport sector has opened the doors, in recent years, to IT solutions both for aviation and non aviation activities. In this context, the European Commission (EC) has envisaged the possibility of financing industrial application that would promote the use of European Cloud Computing solutions, such as FIWARE, avoiding vendor lock-in and simplifying the composition of new services. FLIWARE is a FIWARE-based application funded by the frontierCities2 Accelerator & Incubator (Horizon 2020, Grant Agreement No. 732947-Sub-Grant Agreement No. 011). It aims to satisfy fliers improving, enriching and simplifying their "go-to/from/through-the-airport" experience. This scientific paper provides the FIWARE deployment and development experience through the Cloud solution design description and experiments on differente FLIWARE services, such as Users Login, Map and Advertise Delivery and Notification system.
