The doctoral thesis, presented in this volume, investigates the relationship between development policies and the landscape of Southern Italy in order to define – in a place-based way – methodologies of Participatory Action Research (PAR) useful to activate social innovation processes. Once the relationships between development policies and landscape forms have been investigated (chapter 1), together with Participatory Action Research methodologies (chapter 2) during the doctoral period abroad (KU Leuven), and with the case study of the Greek area of Calabria in Italy (chapters 1 and 3) – by identifying young people as powerless within local decision-making processes - it was possible to prepare and implement a declination and expansion of the visual PAR called “Photovoice”. This declination of “Photovoice” was tested to bring empowerment between young people (chapter 4). Finally, as the objective of all the PARs, it was possible to activate a virtuous process of social innovation that led 23 young people from the Greek area of Calabria to become active citizens: learning to draw up a civic monitoring on Monithon starting from their own perception of the landscape

Abstract
Finally, as the objective of all the PARs, it was possible to activate a virtuous process of social innovation that led 23 young people from the Greek area of Calabria to become active citizens: learning to draw up a civic monitoring on Monithon starting from their own perception of the landscapeFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
