In the articulate Diario Sanese, Girolamo Gigli reported with the detail that diaristic treatment allowed the most 'remarkable' facts and events that, in involving Sienese personalities and families, had left their mark on the city's history. These also included the category of artists, especially painters and sculptors, to a lesser extent architects, for whom the focus was basically circumscribed to those who, at home and abroad, had contributed to increasing the fame of their native city in that field, especially in the Republican age. Therefore, the relevant 'foreign' personalities called to Siena between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th, as well as a significant line-up of 'minor' local artists, in the very years in which Gigli stayed in Siena during his eventful existence, were left out. On some of those figures, starting from the notes extrapolated from the Diario on the main architectural interventions noted down, but whose actors were omitted, we focus our attention on this occasion.

Abstract
On some of those figures, starting from the notes extrapolated from the Diario on the main architectural interventions noted down, but whose actors were omitted, we focus our attention on this occasion.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
