Trees are plant beings endowed with character and communicative capacity that contribute to configure, through their aggregation, complex ecosystems endowed with extraordinary expressive power. Therefore, the responsibility of design and governance is high especially in urban settings. Urban and spatial planning, in alliance with the specific field disciplines, are called upon to play a responsible role on the future arrangement of the natural capital of cities, in order to bring their knowledge to a field that will be increasingly decisive for the improvement of the overall climatic and social well-being in urban areas. Three particular aspects are presented that emerge in this boundary area, that also are in the conjunction of disciplines and professionalism, and pertain to: observation for project-oriented knowledge, productivity in the creation of rare species orchards, and biodiversity enrichment as a priority goal for integral renaturalization consistent with available and potential water resources.

Abstract
Trees are plant beings endowed with character and communicative capacity that contribute to configure, through their aggregation, complex ecosystems endowed with extraordinary expressive power. Therefore, the responsibility of design and governance is high especially in urban settings. Urban and spatial planning, in alliance with the specific field disciplines, are called upon to play a responsible role on the future arrangement of the natural capital of cities, in order to bring their knowledge to a field that will be increasingly decisive for the improvement of the overall climatic and social well-being in urban areas. Three particular aspects are presented that emerge in this boundary area, that also are in the conjunction of disciplines and professionalism, and pertain to: observation for project-oriented knowledge, productivity in the creation of rare species orchards, and biodiversity enrichment as a priority goal for integral renaturalization consistent with available and potential water resources.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
