The contribution presents an experience of applying the narrative - autobiographical method as an innovative device aimed at soliciting the recognition and self-recognition of the lifeexperiences of university students attending the Pedagogy of Family Relations course at theFederico II University. An autobiographical narration activity was implemented within theLaboratory of Clinical and Pedagogical Intervention Methodologies which for the studentsproved to be particularly useful not only for the experimentation of a new device to be reusedin future professional contexts, but also for the creation of a pedagogically functional spacetime for the self-recognition of significant learning, emotions, images of oneself and thoughts, the latter dimensions that are difficult to intercept.
