The construction of a positive and supportive environment for children’s participation in sport is influenced by the role of adults, therefore by the support or pressure behavior of parents and the way in which they interact with coaches. The positivity of sport emerges precisely from the way in which adults carry out sports experience and lead it with specific educational intentions. This article focuses on the construct of parental involvement in youth sport and aims to highlight the factors that can promote an effective coaches-parents partnership and to analyze some parent education programs.

Abstract
