The experience of sport in young age favors important results in terms of motor, social and emotional development and the acquisition of skills relevant to life. The quality of sports experience in competitive youth is influenced by the interaction that athletes have with significant adults (parents and coaches). Parents influence on children’s participation in sport through 3 aspects: role models, beliefs, emotional support. Investigating the role of parents in their children's sporting experience is important for understanding and preventing the phenomenon of disaffection.
