La politica ecclesiastica del Potere secolare attuata dopo l’anno Mille

The article aims to investigate, in general terms, the causes that gave rise to a series of misunderstandings in the relationship between the Papacy and the Political Potentate in the period from the year 1000 to the fourteenth century, with particular reference to the so-called “Avignon Captivity” period, when, by order of the King of France, Philip IV the Fair, the transfer of the papal seat from Rome to Avignon was decided. This transfer, with its ups and downs, would last for seventy years. The work will begin with the Gregorian Reform, not neglecting the period of the “Investiture Controversy” up to the Council of Constance.

L’articolo ha lo scopo di investigare, in linea generale, le cause che hanno dato sfogo a tutta una serie di incomprensioni nei rapporti tra il Papato e Potentato Politico nel lasso di tempo compreso tra l’anno Mille sin fino al Quattordicesimo secolo, con particolare riferimento al periodo c.d. della ‘cattività’ avignonese allorquando, per volontà del re di Francia Filippo IV il Bello venne deciso il trasferimento della sede pontificia da Roma ad Avignone che, tra alti e bassi, durerà per un settantennio. Il lavoro prenderà le mosse dalla Riforma Gregoriana, non trascurando il tempo della ‘Lotta per le Investiture’ sino al Concilio di Costanza.
