Abstract
In view of the Metropolitan City the urban centers on the coast have the chance to be reborn and valued as tourist centers of excellence, through a comprehensive set of interventions, aimed at development, regeneration and recovery of their historical and cultural heritage as an essential element for growth of local socioeconomic development. This paper will describe the program of urban renewal and economic revitalization of the Gallico Marina (RC) ancient fishing village, promoted by a partnership project that involves the city of Reggio Calabria, the PAU Department, Sviluppo Italia and Posidonia Circle, whose joint action is aimed at drafting a preliminary Feasibility Study, then a recovery plan and the choice of legal entity best suited to manage the entire process. The approach used is typical of Complex Urban Programs (PUC), or integrated programs in terms of offers (functional mix) and sustainable in socio-economic terms, through involvement of various stakeholders, both public and private. Interventions will be aimed at environmental restoration, building recovery, especially regarding the potential tourism and hospitality of the village and the social and economic regeneration, particularly as regards the attractiveness factors, from the envelope of its historical unused buildings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
