Movie industry and tourism. Public policy for movie locations. The case of Detective Montalbano Abstract A )The paper examines the Regional policy of incentives to movie industry, focusing on their typologies and their importance for the development of tourism. 2) The methodology consist in a systematic research on the regulation of various Italian Regions in the frame of E.U and in the analysis of financial data . I also present a quantitative methodology (Forte-Mantovani touristic development Index) to assess the effectiveness of these policies for the development of tourism. From the variety of instruments set up by the different Regions, does not emerge a coherent picture of these policies in relation to the relevant public objectives. Abstract A) Il lavoro esamina le politiche regionali di incentivo alle produzioni cinematografiche per stabilire le loro tipologie e la loro rilevanza ai fini della promozione del turismo. B) La metodologia consiste nella indagine delle regolamentazioni delle varie regioni, nel quadro europeo, e nella analisi dei dati finanziari. Vi è inoltre lo sviluppo di un metodo quantitativo, basato sull’indice di sviluppo turistico Forte Mantovani per verificare l’efficacia di tali politiche ai fini della promozione del turismo .
