Il progetto dell'esistente 2.0 The Built Environment Plan 2.0

Around the mid 1980’s, the appealing perspective of the plan for built environment came out of the debate on the themes of building restoration.Since then different changes of cultural and normative context occurred.The contribution explores such dynamics, enucleating and deepening three matters - knowledge, responsibility, service life - that, in their trend, have contributed and still contribute to redraw scientific, technical and operational frontiers of relationship between maintenance and transformation.Thereby the paper faces some of the crux that allow a critical observation of the development dynamics of the idea, and of its meaning, concerns what is still today decodable as plan for built environment.

Intorno alla metà degli anni ’80 emergeva dal dibattito sui temi del recupero edilizio l’accattivante prospettiva del progetto dell’esistente. Da allora sono intervenuti diversi mutamenti di contesto e del quadro normativo.Il contributo esplora tali modificazioni, enucleando ed approfondendo tre questioni - conoscenza, responsabilità, durata - che, nel loro percorso evolutivo, hanno contribuito e contribuiscono tuttora a ridisegnare confini scientifici, tecnici ed operativi del rapporto tra conservazione e trasformazione.Vengono affrontati in tal modo alcuni dei nodi che, in ultima analisi, consentono un’osservazione critica delle dinamiche evolutive dell’idea stessa, e del relativo portato, di ciò che oggi è ancora decodificabile come progetto dell’esistente.
