Methane reforming with carbon dioxide to syngas was investigated over a Ni/FER and Ni/ITQ-6 catalysts with cesium promoter. Fresh and used catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, TPR.H2, SEM, AFM, H-TEM, NMR and TGA analyses. Between two structures, lamellar and delaminated, the first one promotes the best Ni catalyst performance. In addition, cesium improves the carbon resistance and the stability of the catalyst, for both structures. Cesium promoter reduces the size of nickel species and favors the formation of highly dispersed nickel species, retarding the catalyst deactivation due to coke formation.
