A reliable ionospheric model is very important in such fields as satellite positioning and surveying, radiocommunication, space weather and so on. In this way, a correct calculation of Total Electron Content would have many useful implications. In this paper, a novel approach based on Support Vector Machines and used for Total Electron Content estimation is described. It exploits Global Positioning System observables, with encouraging results.

Abstract
A reliable ionospheric model is very important in such fields as satellite positioning and surveying, radiocommunication, space weather and so on. In this way, a correct calculation of Total Electron Content would have many useful implications. In this paper, a novel approach based on Support Vector Machines and used for Total Electron Content estimation is described. It exploits Global Positioning System observables, with encouraging results.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
