It’s well known that water shortage has become an increasingly difficult problem that requires lots of careful strategies. The first strategy should be protecting groundwater resources and water conservation. Taking preventative measures by protecting groundwater resources from contamination is an important aspect of water conservation, and an important lesson can come from the remote past. In order to promote the knowledge of qualitatively significant elements of cultural heritage, in this paper I would like to suggest a comparative analysis of two sacred hypogea: Santa Maria in Stelle in Verona, and San Salvatore in Cabras. Both of them were built as water was the most important natural element for human life and for overcoming concerns and worries about illnesses, and to improve health benefits or to help people who were suffering from depression or any other disorders. The hypogeum of San Salvatore is the most ancient, built as pagan shrine for the primitive ‘nuragico’ water cult use, the hypogeum of Santa Maria in Stelle was built in the 3rd century AD. I’ll try to emphasize the similarity and diversity between them, through survey drawings and graphic images taking on the consideration shapes, dimensions, and spaces distribution.

Abstract
I’ll try to emphasize the similarity and diversity between them, through survey drawings and graphic images taking on the consideration shapes, dimensions, and spaces distribution.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
