Tra spazio assoluto e spazio fluido: la rappresentazione dell’oasi

Ai margini del deserto, in prossimità di zone umide di affioramento della falda freatica, la palma cresceva in piccole macchie selvatiche che si riproducevano per l’azione del vento, formando un ambiente favorevole all’insediamento dell’uomo. Il paesaggio dell’oasi è una composizione di elementi naturali la cui combinazione trasforma il luogo in natura artificiale; l’acqua, la conoscenza delle tecniche agricole e il duro lavoro quotidiano sovrascrivono, al suolo arido del deserto, i segni che configurano il luogo. L’oasi è un sistema omogeneo che si struttura nella ripetizione degli elementi di cui è composta e che genera una unità figurativa data dalle parti ordinatamente disposte. Una massa vegetale omogenea che diventa un sistema definito e equilibrato. L’immagine dell’oasi si costruisce tra il tra lo spazio del deserto, in cui non vi è presenza di segni stratificati ma si configura come un assoluto naturale e lo spazio fluido e simbolico della vegetazione che si definisce come una figura rispetto al circostante. La rappresentazione ha inizio dal disegno della palma, questa è la misura dell’oasi e la sua raffigurazione racchiude sacralità e simbolismo, punto di unione tra il mondo delle forme e il mondo dello spirito.
