In this paper it is introduced a new type of dual-band antenna element for reflectarray applications. The proposed configuration is based on the integration of two shorted ring antennas, namely the Shorted Annular Patch (SAP) antenna and the Inverted- SAP (I-SAP) antenna. As it will be shown, this arrangement can be adopted to design dual-band dual-beam reflectarrays in which the formation of two radiation patterns can be controlled independently by varying the inner and the outer radius of the SAP and I-SAP antenna respectively.
