The aim of this work was to examine the variations of qualitative parameters of the fruits, in the canopy of the Actinidia deliciosa trees, cv Hayward, trained to pergola system, cultivated in the Calabrian region. Differentiated operations of green pruning were conducted in comparison to the control of trees during the year 2008. The canopy of the trees was divided, ideally, into two layers (middle-low, L1, and middle-top, L2). For each situation, qualitative and nutraceutic parameters were determined at the harvest (11th Nov.08) of fruits (Total Equivalent Antioxidant Capacity – TEAC, Total Polyphenols – TPH). It was observed that with a optimal green pruning hardness and with favourable variations of the other nutritional parameters as Total Antioxidant Capacity, total polyphenols and colour of the pulp. In conclusion we can say that there are interesting variations of the qualitative parameters of the fruits in the tree canopy
