Abstract

The evaluation of the electromagnetic field diffracted bu a collection of similarmetallic object is obtained using the Characteristic Modes for the single scattereras basis and weigting functions in the MoM solution of the whole scattering grid.Due to thei resonant behaviour, only a few characteristic modes are required for an accurate representation of the current distribution even in presence of mutual couplingCharacteristic modes have been numerically evaluated for cylindricalscatterers of different shapes and successfully applied to the computationof current density and scattered far field. Several numerical results arepresented and coputational advantages of this approach over classical MoM arediscussed.
