In the coming decades, extreme weather events will represent major global risks, affecting numerous urban contexts with varying degrees of severity. Historical centers, in particular, display significant structural and physical vulnerabilities, making them ill-equipped to cope with the ongoing climate emergency. In such contexts, climate risk is directly linked to both their inherent fragility and their level of exposure to environmental hazards. Within this framework, an effective approach involves the adoption of preparedness strategies aimed at fostering resilient responses to climate impacts in urban areas, while simultaneously enhancing their adaptive capacity.

Abstract
In the coming decades, extreme weather events will represent major global risks, affecting numerous urban contexts with varying degrees of severity. Historical centers, in particular, display significant structural and physical vulnerabilities, making them ill-equipped to cope with the ongoing climate emergency. In such contexts, climate risk is directly linked to both their inherent fragility and their level of exposure to environmental hazards. Within this framework, an effective approach involves the adoption of preparedness strategies aimed at fostering resilient responses to climate impacts in urban areas, while simultaneously enhancing their adaptive capacity. This contribution, part of an ongoing doctoral research project, presents the development of climate adaptation strategies for Mediterranean historical centers, evaluated in relation to potential future climate change scenariosI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
